Meet your practitioner
Ian-Thomas McCarthy is an Advanced Kambo practitioner with the IAKP. He is a trained Facilitator having worked with other Plant Medicines like Psilocybin, Psilohuasca, Ganja & Ayahuasca in a working capacity abroad in Costa Rica (Soltara) & the Netherlands (Innerlijke-Reis).
He is a Cacao Supplier within Ireland using the Brand “Keiths Cacao”.
He is a fully trained Yoga teacher (200-RYT) & loves to bring Yoga into the Kambo therapy space if the client is happy to do so.
As a trained Kambo practitioner Ian-Thomas will know where, how much and how to treat you, if at all.
He has also been trained in techniques that enable him to assess you so that he can create a focused treatment plan by
utilizing Chakra, Meridian & Auricular points.
The IAKP – International Association of Kambo Practitioners are a non-profit organization that seeks to support and encourage the safe, responsible & professional use of Kambo through training, awareness raising, knowledge development and sharing, personal skills development, research and best practice.
They were founded in early 2014 with the goal of bringing Kambo into the modern world in a safe, responsible, ethical and sustainable way.
Ian-Thomas’s passion for Kambo runs deep in his veins, It helped him recover fully from illness that was plaguing his life & gave him true purpose & meaning.

Everything Kambo
The Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog – Phyllomedussa Bi-Colour. Its secretion is what we call Kambo.
It’s one of the most ancient medicines used by humanity. With over a 10-thousand-year history. A handful of tribes in the Amazon managed to keep the tradition and medicine alive and safe.
In 1925, a French priest was the first to bring it back west.
On the frog secretion there are a whole array of peptides. Peptides are strings of amino acids, which are tiny pieces of proteins. Like bricks to a house, protein are the building blocks to all organic life.
Peptides can be seen as keys that open doors in the human body. We have the receptors for all these peptides already in our body.
Think of Amino acids as the letters. Peptides are the words made from these letters. And they all come together to make up a language that composes and directs every cell, organ and system in your body.
To get the peptides to all the various receptors we want to use the lymphatic system, this is why we burn the outer layer of the skin to get access to this system.
A Kambo Ceremony usually takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours
A 12 hour fast is done prior to the ceremony.
No food, Medications, supplements, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, water/beverages.
Hydration Before Ceremony:
You will be asked to drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water before the Kambo is applied. You are given a 15-minute window to do so.
Application Time:
The Kambo will be left on for a minimum of 20 minutes & Maximum of 40 minutes.
Post-Ceremony Rest:
Once the secretion is removed, people usually take a few minutes to rest before they are able to go home.
